Carly Waugh Born: xxxx Location: Knoxville, TN Comments: Carly tried her first post-accident sprint Triathlon in 2007. She swims well, but hadn't trained on either a racing wheelchair or a handcycle. Tom Kahler Born: 1958 Location: Clinton, TN Comments: I'm a competitive hand cyclist from Clinton, NNW of Knoxville. I'm a high Para, T 1-3, and use a Top End XLT Force. I ride as many miles per week as work and weather permit; typically between 50 to 75 miles. I'm always interested in getting out, and ride with various local groups too. I enjoy expanding my riding areas, and making new friends in the process. I'd like to encourage you if you're interested in hand cycling, whether competitively or not. Race Data for Tom |

Dennis Clark Born: 1946 Location: Oak Ridge, TN Comments: In 2001 a hanggliding accident damaged my spinal column at the T7 and T12 vertebrae. In order to get a workout I now have to use my arms, chest, and back muscles. Handcycling gives me a good workout and I enjoy getting out into the sun and Moving myself. I'm like an old coon dog you have to put on a leash because it doesn't know it's too old to run with the pack. In my case, no one ties me up, so I race now and then. Race Data for Dennis |
